02: Installing the software (Article #512 Page 1)

Install IL2FB Dedicated Server

The default path of the dedicated server is C:\Program Files\Ubi Soft\IL2 FB Dedicated Server.

I recommend creating a simple file path for the dedicated server. ie: C:\00dsserver

The 2 zeros will place the directory at the top of the file directory list so its easy to find later.
I recommend removing any CAPS or SPACES in any file paths. For the simple reason that the Daemon is CAP and SPACE sensitive, so one mistake and it will cause you alot of grief.

Now install the DS into your simply named directory.
Current version is 1.22

Dont try to run it just yet, as there is a few minor settings to make which is covered in the next section.

Install FBDaemon2

1. Unzip FBD2 to your server's desktop (into its own folder), or into the Dedicated Server directory into its own folder.

2. Navigate to your FB Server installation folder.

Find the i18n folder and backup netmessages.properties.

Go back to your FBD2 install folder, and rename netmessages.fbdaemon.properties to netmessages.properties, and move it into your FB Server's i18n folder.

Dont try to run it just yet, as there is a few minor settings to make which is covered in the next section.
