A little reminder that work is still being done on future upgrades. Cool

Here is the link to the Daidalos Teams original thread.

Update May 4th, 2012
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post418733

Our first update probably isn't much of a surprise for anyone who's been following this board, but we still want to officially announce it. Patch 4.12 will add a cockpit to the Hawk 75 we already have as an AI plane, and make it flyable. The cockpit will be for the Finnish version. Finland acquired and operated more than 40 Hawks throughout the war.

Update May 11th, 2012
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post423560

This weeks update shows a little change in the scoring system. Patch 4.12 will introduce shared kills, which was historical practice in many air forces and has been requested by the community. It will no longer be the last pilot to put in a shot which gets all the credit. The below video shows an example from offline play.

Update May 18th, 2012
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post427106

Today we are presenting an new feature for the AI, which will be included in patch 4.12. It will be possible to have AI taxi for take off on the airfield. This feature will work with spawning from stationary planes as well as with normal spawning. The mission builder has to set the route to the runway, and it works on any type of airfield. Below a video showing how it might look.

Update May 25th, 2012

Today's update show one of the smaller projects that will find their way into 4.12 - the repainted cockpit for the P-38. Cockpit updates are among the most frequent requests we are getting, so, here is one.

Update May 31st, 2012
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post430751

This week we'd like to announce that the Ki-45 Kai Hei and the Ki-45 Kai Tei, that have been added as AI planes in 4.11, will receive a cockpit and be flyable in 4.12.

The below screenshots show the cockpit, the gunner with the unique gun training mechanism of the Ki-45's rearward gun, a shot of what the big nasty 37mm cannon can do, and in case you're wondering what the second gunsight on top of the canopy frame is doing, a shot of the slanted guns installed in the Tei models fuselage as well as an idea of how to use them.

All screenshots are work in progress.

v4.12 is looking pretty good to me already. Smile

I fell a little behind on the updates but the following will bring it up to date. Smile

Update July 13th, 2012 - Part 1
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post444168

This week update will contain a bit more pictures, since the last update is already quite some time ago. It will be made in four parts.

Part 1:
We are happy to announce the often requested rework of the P-40E (and following) series - you know: the 'upward bent wings issue'. Very Happy
In fact this is a completely new model, made from scratch by our member 'Macwan'. (note: all pictures are WIP shots!)

Update July 13th, 2012 - Part 2
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post444171

Part 2
Lets present a few more pics, to show the detail, that goes into such work.

And because this question may raise up: No - the old skins will not match anymore. The decision was made, because the old mapping was awfull. So this model got a full new mapping - no shared parts (like half of lower side mirrored) anymore.

Update July 13th, 2012 - Part 3
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post444172

Part 3
Additional to the two versions of the Ki-45 Kai (as AI) - released with 4.11 - you will get two further versions: Ki-45 Kai KO and Ki-45 Kai OTSU.

These two are earlier versions, easily recognizable by their shorter nose, which carries a central landing light.
All 4 plane types will be flyable in 4.12 naturally.

Update July 13th, 2012 - Part 4
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post444176

Part 4
Last but not least we look down to the surface. Here we have two new German submarines - the Type VIIB (made by 3rd party) and the Type IXB.

Further on as a new feature, the heavy Russian tanks T-28 and T-35 with their multi-turret layout will now be able to handle their turrets independently. This (multigun-)feature might be adopted to other units (bunkers, flak-turrets or similar) later. Cool

Update July 27th, 2012
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post448559

In today's update we would like to present one of the British bombers DT is working on... Vickers Wellington. It's going to be in 4.12 as an AI plane.

Update September 9th, 2012
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post459571

The summer is over and DT would like to present another British bomber planned to be released in our next patch, Bristol Beaufort.

All current now, I hope you enjoy the updates. Cool

Edit 2 - Wednesday, September 26, 2012 04:10 PM

Update, September 22nd, 2012
Source: forum.1cpublishing.eu/...post462962

This time we'd like to share a few features in the GUI and in flight. We'll leave it to the community to find everything and will only name one: 4.12 will have true wide screen support, which was the most popular community request at the time we started development.

v4.12 User Interface Changes
Standard Definition: youtu.be/95WGJm3KbxA

High Definition (720): youtu.be/95WGJm3KbxA?hd=1

The community has been asking to be able to use skins on the static aircraft for as long as I have been around. Smile

The new system of sharing kills is very good news. (Not that I haven't indulged in "shooting down" a flaming, airborne wreck - i.e.: bouncing the rubble - now and then.) I don't know if half-credits are feasible, but this was common practice, and it would be a nice touch.

Very Happy

GREAT! I love the shared kills. It's excellent for the new pilots to get at least some credit Smile

Many thanks for the info on the 4.12 update, most interesting. Any chance of a CAC Boomerang and a RAF Whirlwind being thrown into the 4.12 mixing pot. Much thanks and gratitude to all the members of TD for the continuing work going on. I would just like to add, that without TD this game would have become stale by now, these guys are keeping it fresh and interesting. Mucho, Mucho, thanks, please keep doing what your doing.

That's great.

There were 2,452 A-26 Invaders built and used from 1944 up into the 60s.

There were 5,288 B-26 Mauraders built and used from 1941 to 1945.

But

"Finland acquired and operated more than 40 Hawks throughout the war."

Yeah, that's great.

Yeah, that's great.

I think that you have to view TD, just like Maddox Games, as a random content generator, and be grateful for whatever you get.

It used to drive me nuts that they kept the dayglo Sturmovik spinners and ridiculous squadron/regiment badges (which make those squadrons unusable), but now I just enjoy the absurdity of it.

Oh look, another one of these unappreciative posts, most likely by someone who has no idea what the magnitude of work required to get something like a new aircraft model is like.

First off, the Hawk 75 model is already in the game. So is the Hawk 81 cockpit, from which they can most certainly take an modify to fit the 75.

The A-26...no model, no cockpit in the game. Thats about 18 months worth of work. Same deal with the B-26. So you are collectively looking at around 2-3 years worth of work, by people have lives and most likely a day job outside il2 patch making.

If you're looking at SAS or some other mod site and are seeing models of A-26s and B-26s, while they might look like the aircraft you seek if you squint real hard, but they are junk in comparison to the latest additions from 4.0 on.

From my perspective, even if it is a "Finnish" version, to have a flyable Hawk 75 with proper cockpit in this game is immense, considering people have been screaming to have this made into a flyable ever since it was introduced as an AI model.

And IL2 (as it's name might sugest) is the WWII air war from a Russian perspective. So a handfull of effective fighters flown by a German ally against Soviet aircraft might just be more appropriate to the game than some other sugestions.

Guys, I do appreciate the work that goes into the models, I really do. The point I was ineptly trying to make was that alot of the planes that did the backbone of fighting are not worth the effort?
I'm not really so sure what planes are who's anymore, certainly I recognize that certain models are better than others, but I'm no always sure which cockpit I am really looking at, if I had never looked it up or sat in the RL seat.
I also greatly appreciate any soldier who confronts an armada of aircraft with very limited resources, and were hard pressed.
I didn't steal the games, I bought them, all of them (except CoD cause I just haven't yet) because I love it. i have both modded and non, and play them both. You have answered my question, however poorly I put it out there, for the fact that it's too much work, fair enough. I was just wondering how there are so many models of the same ac, and not so much of the stuff my grnddad worked on.
Sorry to have outraged such a distinguished group. I resign.

I have read with some concern about the differing views of members about the upcoming 4.12 release from TD and I would just like to clarify my own position. IL2 is a fantastic game but let's be frank it is old by now in comparison to the much more advanced combat sims of today. For it to continue to grow we must see more aircraft and all manner of new things to keep the game up-to date and ensure that it appeals to the many. I fully accept that the burden of this falls on the shoulders of TD and by God most of us do we appreciate what they are doing. Without them the game would come to a standstill in terms of growth and development. But I don't think that it is wrong for any of us to have a desire to see one of our favourite aircraft put into the game.

I'm glad to hear about the 'kill-sharing' update for online play. I'm sick of those 'DON'T KILLSTEAL!!!' messages on the briefing screens, and the whining that goes on when it happens (usually by accident).

I'm usually flying a bomber, so it doesn't really apply to me, but since when does a 'stolen' kill matter? Its not like IL2 saves your score once you exit the server.
