I just finish this outstanding campaign and I'd like to say that it's one of the best ones, if not the best, for new players.
It's a pity there is such a lack of campaigns of this type to train new pilots and help them overcome the learning curve.
WE NEED training campaigns and missions!!!!
In my humble opinion, this is one of the biggest flaws in the game.
I've been playing for about a year and NOW it's when I'm getting a slight idea and see some improvements. But i'm still so far behind those ACES in hypperlobby
My gunnery skill sucks! I found a good mission for gunnery with the REVI and the other, but it's hard. Yesterday I did this:

www.youtube.com/watch?...A6Ww64EYYw
What a bout a training campaign focusing on gunnery?
I did better in this one, though:

A big round of applause!!!! for Zeus-cat
It's a pity too that the "Training to get your wings" was never born.

I agree! That is a very generous campaign, and great training for first IL2 flyers.
I came across it and flew it not really as a newbie, but it was very nice to improve weak spots on my skills and very enjoyable!
Zeus-cat did a fantastic job and I still have this one as my top recommended campaign for the newcomer.
Hats off to him!

Yes, it's excellent. I was surprised to see that in one of the cases you gotta aim below the target!! I'd never done that. But now, it makes sense.

Thanks for the kind words on my campaign. I am truly pleased that it has helped so many people. If you haven't done so already please post a comment on the campaign's page.
I haven't actually played IL-2 since my squad broke up over a year ago, but I still pop in here now and again to see what is going on.

Sorry, but I have retired from campaign building. I finished 7 and had 2 more in the works when I decided it was enough.

Zeus-cat,
I especially enjoyed the dead reckoning mission (I believe it was mission 19) in the Straight From the Farm. I'm truly grateful for your efforts.

Well, I'll try to do it myself! Close your fingers.
Can I use your as a model, (copy and paste style)?
It's just for the good of the community!

Glad to see some of the older campaigns being resurrected. The Straight From the Farm is a definite must for a beginner or even some of us older flyers needing to brush up on our skills. Even experienced pilots need some time in a "rag" outfit after being saddled with desk duties.
A long time favorite of mine is his Straight Out of the Mist Campaign. Lots of fun. Good luck with skip bombing. It's got a little of everything, including some night time fun. So if you like B-25's, then you are in for a treat. It can be downloaded here:

I never got much feedback on that campaign; I assumed it was one people didn't like. I thought the story was great and the skins Beebop made were fantastic. I'm glad at last one person really liked it C2Aaircrew.

AAWW, I'm just a sucker for the "underdog having to fight his way to the top 'o the heap" type of story. I usually don't go for non-historical stuff unless something really strikes me. This one did as did The Castaways and The Bushpigs by Dubbo. I still fly each of your campaigns in rotation every now and then. You never really tire of the good ones.
