This is a sad truth - the majority of folks will just sign up, download what they want and then only ever come back to download.
As your stats show, the vast majority do not even post to introduce themselves... quite sad, really but it is a good sign that there are a lot of IL-2 jocks out there...
Not all bad, then..

tbf in my experience forum users are but a tiny sample of overall users of a game, any game. in relation to il2 a disproportionate number of those are online only full-real pilots, although not necessarily the case here. i think the mods brought a few offline exlusive players into forum usage in general. people mostly can't be bothered with forums though, they play the game, use the skins, read the tips and are not fussed about chatting.
go to the CloD forums and you would think that nigh on everyone that flies that game wants such things as one death limits on online servers, or altitude sickness modelling.

Those numbers are pretty average. It's the 90-10-1 rule of forums.
About 90% of the people who visit a forum never register. Of the ones that do, about 10% make one or two posts (usually looking for answers to problems). Only about 1% of the people who join a forum become regular posters.

Still around here, don't know if more like me are still lurking around, but I still fly IL-2 around, don't even have CoD yet mysellf, but IL-2 is still my fave, still posting here on the occasion now, but I do some luriking here just about everyday looking for some interesting stuff.
As long as I got campaigns I haven't played, I'll be happy...Trigger Happy with planes guns in IL-2 that is.
There are times when oldies are better to use than the latest thing around, even though CoD is probably starting to become a more common thing than IL-2 1946 now, but our good old IL-2 1946 still ain't dead yet, as long as there are people who love to play it.

As an infrequent "Poster", I check in on the forums when I have the time available. My job is x days on, then x days off. I usually submit a post looking for an answer to a problem. I try to review earlier posts to see if my issue has already been solved. I can state categorically, "All of my posts were answered promply, consicely, and politely" no matter how asinine or "newbie" the question. This forum, and most other flight sim sites are fountains of knowlege with extremely helpful membership. Just cause I don't talk, don't mean I ain"t listenin. Happy Holidays to all. God bless.
