Ok, looks like I might finally get around to doing my Turkey campaign. Only problem is I'll probably be using two maps (Kerch and Bessarabia (?)), and Istanbul (or Byzantium or Constantinople or whatever) is where they overlap. So is there any way I can do this where I'll only have to make the city once, and then copy-and-paste it so I don't have to build it all twice? I've thought of copying and changing the coordinates in the .mis file but that seemed like just as much work. Any ideas?

Campaign in Turkey ??

What will it be about ?? Excuse the question but I never heard about anything involving Turkey during all of WW2, unless you're doing this one based on The Crusades or the Ottoman Empire

Yeah, it's a hypothetical campaign, if the Germans went through there after Greece. It might make more sense once I do the campaign

Interesting, I maybe wrong but wasn't Turkey supposed to have the attitude very similar to Spain ?? We all know General Franco made a bunch of deals with the Germans throughout the 30s and WW2, and that Hitler himself even asked him to declare war on the allies during WW2 but Franco had turned him down, however he did helped them out with under the table deals.

So I take it that Turkey had probably the same attitude, especially since the Ottoman Empire was on the Germans side during WW1, still, had Turkey entered the war on the German's side during WW2, it would've meant the Germans would have a complete free access to attack the Middle-East directly, as we can guess, one of the targets Hitler himself would've picked on his political agenda at some point would obviously have been Palestine, which is today Israel.

I really don't think Churchill nor Stalin would've liked that kind of move on Hitler's plans, heck, the British were taking a good chunk of their oil from the Middle-East, and so did the Soviets. But in the Soviet's case, it was Baku and the Caspian Sea, which were very close to Turkey, like Odessa and Sevastopol on the Black Sea, as for the British it was what is today the Arab world, especially Iraq, Iran and Saudi Arabia along with probably Kuwait. Would've completely disrupted their entire oil supplies, which would've given the Germans a serious edge over WW2.

I hope you complete your campaign, it looks really promising for an idea, and very interesting to play, I know I'd download it for sure, so which planes would you have in mind to pilot for the Turkish Air Force ??

I like this idea on this campaign, keep it up, I want to fly it some day.

Sorry but Turkey was almost openly with Hitler until 1943. At one point Turkey was ready to declare war to the allies if the Germans were giving them the greek islands of the Aegean but Hitler refused so Turkey remained in a so-called state of 'neutrality'. They stopped being friendly only after Mussolini was deposed and the Dodecanese islands were captured by the allies, so in essence Turkey could be threatened by allied bombing.

So in essence this campaign should be the other way around. Possibly a soviet invasion in Sept. 1944 by the red army or an allied bombing campaign from aug. 1943 onwards.
