I downloaded MM6 from the Downloads Center. I then unzipped and installed in C:\Program Files\Ubisoft\Mission Mate 6. The 'uninstall' and 'help' file click open just fine but the 'exe' won't run via many methods. All I get is "runtime error '429' active x component can't create object".

I went into Windows Explorer, and anywhere else I could think of, and couldn't find any kind of "active x" thing.

Do I gotta go on the net and download some kind of active x program?

Crazy Schmidt was kind enough to tell me that a zip file called GridSetup should also be downloaded. I assume he meant from the M4T site but I can't find that file anywhere.

Any assist would be most appreciated. I can't wait to dive into Mission Mate.

Hi Profo, are you using Vista or Windows 7 ?
Installing the sim in the Program Files folder has been known to cause problems with those versions of Windows.

Wheels,

Even though my OS is 'XP', I still moved and installed MM outside of 'program files' (and everywhere in between). Still no luck. Everything except 'exe' works fine so I don't think dumping the zip file and doing another download will help.

I looked all over this tech site and couldn't find anyone wiith a similar problem.

Regards,
Profo

Hi Profo, I moved this topic from the IL-2 Technical Issues forum to the Mission Mate forum.

Hi Profo, this may help.

Understanding the issue more clearly now after reading this thread, the grid setup download I first suggested via email, is not related.

Let me know how you get on.

Cheers, CS. Smile
