Hi, I am now slowly updating one of my older campaigns and as soon as I have finished I will return back to the P-38 campaign for the US 14th Fighter Group.
But then I would like to recreate another pilot's story - in a similar manner like I did with
the US ace Louis E. Curdes.
By examining aces who got their victories among more varied airforces I have run across some very interesting guys. I feel like recreating all of those stories, but still, I am a human and can not do all
So, I am asking you:
Which pilot's story would you like as a campaign the most?
(Some time ago I posted a similar poll about Swiss, US, North Vietnamese and Chinese campaigns. The winner was the US campaign featuring the 52nd Fighter Group over the MTO and Central Europe. I really made some 9 missions, but then I lost all the data and things I had when my laptop crashed. I was not able recover anything. This was one of the reasons why I did not make many things in 2011. I really lost my drive for making campaigns and therefore I do not feel like proceeding with the 52nd FG any time soon, but I hope the 14th FG will be more than a good stand in...)
You help me decide!
I think these great men are not so well known to the vast majority, so you can do some reading in order to help deciding.
Click on a name, there is a story behind it, read (or at least skim the text) and then vote.
Roald Dahl (Did you know that the author of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" was a fighter ace who shot down Germans and even a Vichy French plane?
EDIT: Here goes your Roald Dahl's campaign as it received the majority of votes.
Willy Reschke - one of the young German pilots trying to stop the bombing of the Reich in the late war. (Shooting down US, RAF and Soviet planes).
Erik Uolevi Teromaa - the only Finnish ace who scored both as an Axis and Allied pilot.
František Cyprich - a man of a similar fate like the previous one, having scored kills among Soviets, Germans and Hungarians.
I can not help not to post another Slovak pilot
František Hanovec - shot down Hungarian (probable), Polish, Soviet and German planes. Took part in nearly all Slovak 1939-44 campaigns - his fate is really like the Slovak campaigns I made so far.
Ion Dobran, a Romanian ace with Soviet, US, Hungarian and German kills.
William Labussiere - might be a little bit more fictional, flying in Spain in 1930s, China and French Indochina, shooting down Spanish Nationalist, Japanese and Thai planes. For this one I would need a Dewoitine 500 and 510 to be incorporated in a modpack.
Georgiy Zakharov, the famous general who flew in Spain, China and commanded a division with the French Normandie-Niemen regiment, he shot down Spanish Nationalists, the Japanese and German planes. But I would need the Minsk map for him.
Ugo Drago, an Italian who shot down Greek, British and US planes.
Tateo Kato - a Japanese ace with Chinese, British and AVG kills. I would need more China maps for him as well as Ki-10 in a compact modpack.
No Yanks this time, I made L. E. Curdes already, some other nationalities deserve a campaign too:))
