Hey Darkfall45 !!
That spot in the middle across the triple intersection on the sea there seems to be a white spot that looks a lot like a ship, could it be a battleship in there shelling out the Airbase with it's big guns ??
It's possible the HE-111H6 would just be a decoy to make us think the explosions were coming from a plane, but the explosions look both too big and too scattered to just be from a HE-111H6.
And since there's no other planes than the HE-111H6 or other type as bombers, the only solution in my mind would be from a big warship, such as a Bismarck class Battleship, probably on static position but there are ships in the FMB that can be both active AND not moving around.
Might be a long shot for this guess, but there's nothing else I can possibly think of...
Besides, there are still those torpedoes I think I saw just close to the docked ships, obviously from a Submarine since there are no other possibilities to notice.

We were sitting around the barracks one night, slightly drunk, ok, very drunk and very bored when one bright fellow says, “You know farts burn.” To which we replied, “Someone get the Zippo”. We were having a roaring good time until the lint on his boxers caught fire. Thank God it had snowed. He ran down the stairs, draws flamin’, out the door into the night and sat down on the nearest snow bank. You could hear it sizzle just like in the cartoons. Morris, thank you for that memory…but no prize. |

Now, Darkfall's conflagration -
I think a RN cook is trying to get the sausages done to a turn.
His verdict " could do with a bit longer"
Naval Fitter & Turner = RN cook. Fits it in the pan, turns it over (optional)
