Not sure if this is the right place to post this but here goes:

I recently downloaded a single mission called "Ground Attack Training Range" and it looks really great. Problem is, there is no readme so I have no idea what to do with these two files:

ground attack training.mis
ground attack training.properties

I looked through my IL2 install directory structure and I see files with these extensions but they are all under a nationality, i.e. UN RU IJN etc.

Tried putting these files in the root but didnt see anything, then I tried putting them in the UN directory and I see the mission when I run the game but it's very wierd....cant select a start spot, or arm planes, or even fly for that matter.

With the lack of documentation is there a default location or best practice to get this working?

Here is what I got:

Ground Attack Training

Go to Missions, then its really up to you as you have several options here.

However this looks like a dogfight so I'd put it in:
Missions\net\dogfight\make a folder\

To play it hit multiplayer, host, dogfight, find your mission folder, select the mission... You could even invite some friends Smile

Thanks will give that a shot.

don't have the game handy right now so am going from memory here; if it is not in a specific nationality, how do I select it? Whenever I do single missions I have to choose a country first, then a plane, then the mission.

Where should I expect to see this one?

Well I think as it has multiple spawns its a dogfight... So its not a single mission... Its a multiplayer mission.

Im going off the blurb:

Map for online Ground attack training

The map is designed to be played with unlimited ammo

There are three airstarts:

-one for low level ground attack and torpedo attacks

-one for dive bombers

-one for high altitude bombsight practice

Plenty of targets for each type of attack

This is a dogfight mission. As farber suggested make a folder in your Missions/Net/dogfight folder. Call it "Training" or whatever you like. Put the .mis and .properties files there.

Start IL-2, select Multiplay/Create New Server/Dogfight. Scroll to your new folder and click "BOMB TRAINING". You will see a map with 4 Red bases. Click any of the bases on land. (The base at sea is a carrier for takeoff and landing practice.) Then select "Arming". You will be presented with the aircraft available at that base. Choose one and it's loadout. You can also choose your nationality but it will be Allied as the bases are Red. You can also choose a plane skin and pilot skin as well.
Then hit 'Fly' and bomb the enemy into submission.

Hope this helped.
